With the aim of providing an entrepreneurship platform and networking opportunities to MBA students, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) will be hosting an entrepreneurship fair on September 25. The event is being jointly hosted by IIMA Entre Club, the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) and the placement committee.
The fair, which was also held last year, will have participation of students from other B-schools too. IIMA has received close to 100 entries from institutes like SPJIMR, NMIMS, MICA, SIBM, among others, so far.
Pranay Gupta, joint CEO, CIIE believes the event will provide a middle path to the students. "We meet quite a few students who are about to graduate and find it hard to choose between entrepreneurship and a job. I think this event can be a very good middle path for such students."
The entrepreneurs too seemed excited to be part of the fair. "I expect the IIMA Entre fair to be an event where students gather at one place to land internships. The opportunities would help students understand innovative start-ups in the market," said Rohit Aggarwal, CEO of Khitchdee.
Meanwhile, Ujwal Makhija, CEO of Phonon believes that through such fairs there is an opportunity for everyone to learn. "We were happy to be a part of the event earlier and had a student interning with us,” he said. |
