AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has applied for patents for the works of five students of Master of Pharmacy.

The patents have been applied in the name of the students for the academic dissertations done by them in the area of anti-hypertension, anti-enzyme, anti-diabetes, anti-obesity and anti-cancer. Beginning from this year, GTU will adopt a regular practice of applying for intellectual property rights for 50 students every year. "GTU will select best works from among the students every year for the application of the patents in the name of the students," said a GTU official.
