AP nod for setting up State Innovation Council
Business Line , April 11, 2011
Andhra Pradesh will soon have a ‘State Innovation Council' (SIC). It is expected to help evolve new processes and structures to enhance the delivery of services and improve performance of the Government.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran kumar Reddy, today okayed the setting up of the Council, which he had suggested during the Secretaries' conference on January 3, 2011.
The Centre has already set up a 15-member National Innovation Council under the chairmanship of Mr Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and innovations.
The Centre for Good Governance would act as the nodal agency for this council, which has been given a dozen tasks that would spur better performance of the Government and develop strategies that are inclusive and help larger sections of the people, according to a press release |
