Warangal Urban: Ammireddy Kiran Kumar, an alumnus of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), received 'Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award 2018' from President Ram Nath Kovind at a function in New Delhi on March 19.

Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) awards celebrate the spirit of student innovation in fields of engineering, science, technology and design through affordable and frugal solutions or the ones pushing the technological edge.

KITSW Director Y Manohar said Kiran Kumar completed B Tech in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 with distinction and completed M Tech in Design Engineering in 2011 from KITSW. He was awarded gold medal from Kakatiya University for securing first rank in M Tech. Later, Kiran Kumar worked as an Assistant Professor at KITS for one year.

At present, he is pursuing Ph D in 'Super resolution ultrasonic imaging' under the supervision of Dr Krishnan Balasubramanian and Dr Prabhu Rajagopal at IIT Madras.

MP (Rajya Sabha) and secretary & correspondent of KITS V Lakshmikantha Rao, treasurer P Narayana Reddy, Principal Dr P Venkateswara Rao, professor K Eswaraiah, Dr D Prabhakara Chary, PRO, and others congratulated Kiran Kumar.
