ABSTRACT
This project proposes about the prevention of crops from downpour (heavy rain fall). Heavy rainfall adversely affects the crops which reduces the overall production and therefore affecting the livelihood of farmers. Hence, we have come up with an innovative idea of “ CROP GUARD-protection shield”.
The concept of our project is that it senses the amount of rainfall and when it reaches a defined level, a protection sheet covers the whole field in order to protect them from excess rain. We have also implanted a system of rain water harvesting.
We have used a water level indicator which gives a beep sound when water exceeds a particular level. This is further connected to motor. The rotation of motor unrolls the sheet which we are using as a protecting shield, placed at the boundaries of the field. The sheet unrolls along the prism shaped frame which covers the entire field.
