Non-inflammable characteristic of dry-type cast-resin transformers make them suitable for residential and hospital usages. However, because of resin's property, high overload capacity, thermal behaviour of these transformers is undesirable, so it is important to analyze their features, advantages, thermal behaviour, construction of different parts over oil filled transformers. Dry type transformer is maintenance free, has longer life, due to only air as coolant is used. Fiber, glass or epoxy used as insulation.
