In today’s world, security of information is quite crucial. There are various techniques for the security of the data. Such hiding techniques are Steganography, Cryptography and Watermarking. Our main aim is to use watermarking technique for the same. Digital watermarking describes methods and technologies that allow to hide information, for example a number or text to digital audio, video, or image signals and documents. The embedding takes place by manipulating the content of the digital data. The data should be hidden in such a way that a person cannot percept it. The watermark should be fragile or robust to resist to manipulations like lossy compression, scaling and cropping. There are three various transform techniques named as Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT), Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) and Wavelet Transformation (WT). Since the WT is the most suitable method, we will use this technique for watermarking. The method of recovery of the embedded watermark can be called as Blind detection since the original data is not required during the process. Digital watermarking has got many various applications like copyright protection, data security, secret communication, authentication of image content, conditional access and copy control. Digital watermarks can also work as invisible labels and content links.
