Extrusion is the process of pushing the heated billet of metal through an orifice provided into a Die. Out of the total manufactured parts 27% parts are manufactured in India by extrusion process. Out of that 37% parts are manufactured in Gujarat and out of that 19% are manufactured only in Jamnagar. Extrusion of the brass is broadly used in the world in various applications. But use of brass rod is required thermal consideration. Effects of thermal heating during the performance of parts material and processes must be perfect but in the industries some technical fault of process and due to that many defects generates like surface cracking, die lining and inhomogeneous deformation, Hot shortness. So it requires to maintain the speed, temperature and many other parameters to correct it. Accurate shape of die is also required to correct the defects in process. So in this project we find out various defects and how to remedies it.
