Now a days on the highway accidents accruing due to speed violation. To avoids accidents and limit speed of vehicle for their permitted lane.

In our project the distance keep constant (10m) & the time is proportional to the vehicle crosses these 10m distance two transmitter & receiver pair installed on highway 10m apart.

When vehicle crosses 1st Beam then counter starts & vehicle crosses 2nd Beam then counter stop counter count the no. of pulses. These purpose we are use IC 8253 (16 bit counter) these no. of pulse interfaced to up using interfacing ckt. & compare these No & standard No which is already stored in the register or memory location by using software & when the comparator o/p zero then these no taking into consideration & display final o/p in terms of speed.
