The proportional –integral –derivative (PID) controllers are widely used in process industries and designed for application where load change are expected and need control action fast and accurately. Feedback controller can effectively eliminate disturbances for fast responding processes but it can become unstable due to nonlinearity and disturbance upsets. Cascade controllers are designed for fast and accurate response. Cascade control system provides good control over single loop controller system. Feed forward proportional –integral –derivative controllers takes corrective action before the process is upset due to disturbance. It is theoretically capable of "perfect control". It does not affect system stability. Ratio proportional –integral –derivative controller is Useful when the manipulated variable scales directly with the feed rate to the process. Different controllers have their own merits-demerits. Here objective of project is to implement these different control strategies on single ARM controller, to meet diversified control needs.
