YouSpeak is an interface developed for blind people to work with file system and other speech based applications. It is made in Java using Java Speech API. It consist of a speech synthesizer to give feedback to user about current state of the system. The interface is similar to windows explorer with speech functionalities. A blind user can work with help of mouse to navigate the file system. The speech synthesizer will impart to user the knowledge of current system state and what will happen if he clicks at that particular mouse position. This interface can be used in a fully speech based OS for blind users.Â
